Boulder Valley School District

The Alliance for Quality Teaching
The Alliance for Quality Teaching is a nonpartisan coalition of policymakers, stakeholders and practitioners gathered with the belief that every Colorado child should have a quality teacher in his or her classroom, every day. The Alliance believes quality teaching is the most important factor in improving student achievement and quality teaching is dependent on high quality preparation, comprehensive recruitment strategies, induction and ongoing professional development.
Broomfield Community Foundation
In 1993, a group of local officials, business people and private citizens, identified five areas of concern: education, the arts and humanities, human services, senior services, and civic projects . They founded The Broomfield Community Foundation by pooling charitable contributions from across the city to ensure that there would be financial support for our Broomfield non-profits to provide the necessary activities and services. 
Colorado Association of School Executives
The mission of CASE is to serve as the dynamic voice for education leadership in all Colorado public schools. The Association shall in every way possible provide for and promote the best interest of publlic education, its leadership and service to its members. In addition to the privileges and service provided to its individual members, the Association may provide services to associated school systems and related agencies by contract or through institutional fees.
Colorado Children’s Campaign
The Colorado Children’s Campaign is the leading voice for Colorado’s nearly 1.2 million children. Through our research and advocacy expertise, we work to increase access to health coverage for kids; increase access to quality child care and early education opportunities for working families; reduce the state’s dropout rate and improve the quality of K-12 education; and improve the state’s ability to respond to children’s needs appropriately through fiscal reforms.
Colorado Council for Economic Education (CCCE)
There is a growing public awareness that a higher level of economic literacy is essential to the future economic well-being of our country. The mission of the Colorado Council on Economic Education (CCEE) is to meet this need by promoting and improving economic literacy in Colorado’s schools. The most effective way to provide economic education to the largest number of students is to enhance the knowledge of their teachers. CCEE accomplishes its mission by offering a wide variety of economics classes for teachers. 
Colorado Department of Education
The Colorado Department of Education supports and serves 178 school districts with their work to provide quality learning for more than 800,000 preK-12 students statewide. CDE also serves adult education and the state’s libraries. The Colorado Education Association is a voluntary membership organization of 38,000 K-12 teachers and education support professionals; higher education faculty and support professionals; retired educators; and students preparing to become teachers.

CEA is a state affiliate of the National Education Association (NEA), America’s oldest and largest organization dedicated to advancing the cause of public education. Founded in 1857, NEA proudly claims 3.2 million members who work at every level of education, from pre-schools to universities. NEA has affiliates in all states, as well as in 13,000 towns and cities across the U.S.
Colorado Parent Information & Resource Center (CPIRC)
CPIRC works with Colorado schools, districts,parents and organizations to give parents and education professionals information and resources so that families can participate in their children’s academic success. CPIRC focuses on increasing meaningful parent involvement in education. They also support early childhood education. They provide information and resources to help parents support their child’s learning at home and about parental rights under No Child Left Behind.

As the business voice for education, Colorado Succeeds is committed to improving the caliber of the state education system and the competitiveness of its students. Accordingly, business leaders must be committed to the success of our educational system. Perhaps just as compelling as the civic responsibility to invest in education, is the tremendous impact the system has on the business environment. In order to accomplish its own mission, business must make a commitment to support meaningful education reform and provide its leadership and resources.
The Community Foundation Serving Boulder County
The Community Foundation Serving Boulder County exists to improve the quality of life in Boulder County, now and forever, and to build a culture of giving. They make grants to community organizations and manage a variety of funds established by families, individuals, and corporations. They’re here to help their donors do good work… For good. For Ever.
Giving First
As a program of the Community First Foundation which serves the Metropolitan Denver area, in addition all the other great services that they offer, Giving First allows non profit organizations like Impact on Education to accept donations without having to pay credit card processing fees.
Jared Polis Foundation
This foundation supports education, technology, and community throughout Colorado. Through our operating programs, the foundation focuses on supporting teachers and their schools and creating school choice for students who need options beyond traditional, comprehensive high schools. One of their hallmark programs is their Teacher Recognition Awards that honors outstanding K-12 classroom teachers who work in the Colorado public school system.
Parent Engagement Network
PEN is a parent-led grassroots community movement that has received local and national attention for its interactive, positive approach to parent engagement. PEN has presented its successful model to national, state, and local groups, such as the Department of Education, Search Institute, Parent Corps, and Assets for Colorado Youth.
Public Education & Business Coalition
The Public Education & Business Coalition (PEBC) is a nonprofit partnership of Colorado education and business leaders that works to: a) improve student learning and achievement in Colorado K-12 public schools, and b) influence policy changes, ultimately benefiting the workforce and economy.They create customized, collaborative, long-term professional learning opportunities for K-12 educators and advocate for policies that support sustainable improvement and sensible structure for schools and school systems.
Public Education Network
Public Education Network (PEN) is a national association of local education funds (LEFs) and individuals working to advance public school reform in low-income communities across our country. PEN believes an active, vocal constituency is the key to ensuring that every child, in every community, benefits from a quality public education.

ReadySetLearn is a vibrant public campaign spearheaded by The Community Foundation and John S. and James L. Knight Foundation alerting people about the critical need to get our Boulder County kids into active learning during their PREschool age years.

“A Parent Guide for Boulder Valley School Kids” Thrive parent handbook cover – EnglishFirst produced and distributed to BVSD parents in fall 2008, this handbook looks across every grade level and highlights how students are exposed to varying levels of unhealthy and even high risk behaviors that can threaten their educational and personal success. It contains what to look for, parenting suggestions, local and national resources, and timely information to help parents understand the many issues our kids face growing up.
