Our Programs
Adelante
As a tutoring and college readiness program, Adelante ensures that English language learners access and succeed in core and high-level high school classes. By narrowing the achievement gap, high-needs Limited English Proficient (LEP) students are prepared for college. Tutors work with LEP students in their classes and after school. National studies emphasize that “at risk” students actually perform better if expectations and standards are raised AND if transitional support is provided.
Classroom Innovation Grants
This program provides funding for innovative, educational, developmental, hands on activities created by Boulder Valley School District teachers. This program encourages and fosters: 1)Improved achievement for students 2) Closing of achievement gaps 3) Innovation in learning activities.
Crayons to Calculators
Created in 2005 by Impact on Education, Crayons to Calculators is a partnership among six area non-profit organizations, BVSD and St. Vrain Valley Schools to ensure that all students start school with the supplies they need to succeed. Last August, Crayons to Calculators provided backpacks of supplies to over 5,900 students. This year, the need is even greater! Learn more at http://www.CrayonsToCalculators.org.
I.C.A.R.E.
Impact’s Community Assistance & Response Effort was there to help Boulder Valley students, teachers, staff, and families impacted by the tragic fires of 2010. Monetary donations received from the community went directly to those in need. Additionally, school supplies needed by those displaced by the fires were distributed to students, teachers, and schools. Coordinated efforts with the Boulder Valley School District have continued to help our community recover.
Impact Awards
The Impact Awards program, established in 1992, recognizes individuals in the Boulder Valley School District who have an extraordinary impact on student learning by valuing education, service to students, and leadership by example. Classroom teachers, specialists, administrators, classified employees, and volunteers are nominated by our community in the early fall. By late fall, community volunteers identify the year’s most inspiring individuals, who are then honored at a dinner celebration in the spring.
Impact Opportunity Fund
Created to reduce the economic barriers that might negatively affect educational experiences & to help students. This fund gives many students access to academic opportunities and participate in extracurricular activities that enable and enrich their educational experiences. This program works towards ensuring that each and every student has the opportunity to attend field trips, represent their school through athletics, enrich their education through music, and all the other opportunities that will make them successful in the 21st century!
