Why I work at Impact on Education:
Both my parents were educators and I believe that supporting public education is an issue of equity and an essential piece in social justice work. IOE’s mission and goals align with my beliefs and I am very excited to be working here. I am a lifelong learner committed to supporting others’ education journeys. I enjoy working with young people and serving my community.
What makes me smile:
I enjoy spending time with family and friends, trying new restaurants and food, travel, and spending time in nature. I love hiking, coffee, and my cat.
Favorite teacher:
Mrs. Mitev in third grade made me feel welcome at my new school. I had not gone to an English-speaking school before and it was hard to adapt to reading and writing in English-only. She built my confidence, sat me near wonderful people that are still my friends today, and like my parents, fostered my love of reading.
More about me:
I was born and raised in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia by bilingual parents from the U.S. and Bolivia. Both my parents had scholarships to college and instilled the importance of learning in me. I love the tropics, don’t miss the mosquitoes, and hope to go on a jaguar safari in the next few years.
