CRAYONS TO
CALCULATORS
We work all year to provide opportunities for BVSD students, but an important first step is ensuring every student starts the school year with the supplies they need for a strong and successful academic year.
Our annual school supply distribution, Crayons to Calculators BVSD, provides age-appropriate school supplies, headphones, and a new backpack to over 5,000 students facing financial hardship in the Boulder Valley School District.
The importance of school supplies
When families face difficult financial decisions or tradeoffs, such as buying groceries or school supplies, it can impact a student’s success in the classroom and in life. Ensuring every student has access to school supplies creates equitable classrooms across all grade-levels.
89% of parents & guardians expect rising prices to impact their back-to-school shopping plans.

MUSIC EDUCATION
As part of our response to the 2021 Marshall Fire, we funded the repair and cleaning of hundreds of musical instruments donated by the community.
Through a 2019 partnership with Pathways to Jazz, we provided over $10,000 in grants to music educators at schools across the Boulder Valley School District. Recipients brought their new and innovative ideas to classrooms and shared them through performances or other formats during an end of year showcase.
