Student Spotlight: Roane Edwards
When he wasn’t playing basketball, Roane spent two years advising our work with BVSD. He plans to attend San Diego State University in the fall.
Student Spotlight: Maya Clements
A queer student who grew up in a multicultural household, Maya feels connected to a lot of different communities. As the liaison to BVSD’s equity council she was a key member of our Student Advisory Board this year.
Student Spotlight: Audrey Bahintchie
Audrey was born in West Africa and speaks fluent French. In addition to the Student Advisory Board, she is involved in many extracurricular activities that align with her core values, diversity and inclusivity.

Due to the pandemic the Student Avisory Board shifted its focus to helping the district transition online, but Abby is hopeful the next cohort will refocus on curriculum evaluation.
